Overview
Reports shows how your plan and linked balances have moved over time. Liquify saves a daily snapshot at the end of each day in the budget owner’s timezone (collaborators share that day boundary).
Charts and download only include boxes, balances, and investment holdings still on today’s plan. Removed boxes drop out of history views even if older snapshots mentioned them. Download also exports day-level KPIs, alerts, and credit-coverage totals for the selected period—not only what the charts show.
Period
Use the period control at the top of Reports:
| Period | Meaning |
|---|---|
| This cycle | From the current refill day through today |
| Last 30 days | Rolling 30-day window |
| This month / This year | Calendar month or year |
| Last 3 months / Last 12 months | Rolling multi-month windows |
| Custom range | Inclusive start and end you pick |
If there is no snapshot data in the selected window, charts show empty.
Charts
Plan mix
Needs, Wants, and Savings as shares of categorised plan amounts (or absolute values). As a guide: Needs under ~75% of income, Needs + Wants under ~85%, Savings at least ~15% (25%+ is excellent). Ratios are most trustworthy when most allocated boxes are categorised.
Account progress
Compares a box’s linked balance to a target line. Use Compare against when the box setup changed during the period:
- Needed (dated expenses) — stay at or above each day for upcoming bills. In Reports, Needed is end-of-day (after that day’s planned bills). See Expected in account.
- Planned (fixed monthly amount, no goal) — balance should refill and draw down through the month as planned.
- Goal — linked balance should trend toward the goal; monthly refill is not the target.
Account balance
Linked account balance for the selected box, day by day—history reference, not a target by itself.
Liquidity
For a credit-linked box: linked payment balance vs that box’s credit debt over time. Healthy: the payment-side balance stays above its own credit debt.
Investments
Total value of all investment groups, or one group, day by day. A healthy trend is rising value over time (markets may dip short-term). See Investments.
Projection
Many charts append a dashed Projection series past the last measured day. It is informational only—not a forecast Liquify guarantees.
How it works:
- History stays a solid line; projection is dashed with the same series label.
- Liquify replays recent day-to-day changes from the visible history (period-replay). With fewer than two dense history days, the tip value is held flat.
- The tip day is seeded so the dashed line joins the solid history cleanly.
- Plan mix in percent mode keeps shares non-negative and renormalised to 100%.
How far it runs depends on the selected period (hard cap about one year ahead):
| Period | Projects through |
|---|---|
| This cycle | Day before the next refill (or month-end if refill day is unset) |
| This month | Calendar month-end |
| Last 30 days | This month-end; if fewer than ~15 days remain in the month, next month-end |
| Last 3 months | End of the month two months ahead |
| Last 12 months / This year | 31 December of the current year |
| Custom range | If the range already ends after today, that month-end; otherwise extend by about the same calendar-month span as the custom window |
If the history already ends on that boundary, there is no projection. When you scrub a dashed day, the tooltip can show Projection under the date.
Download
Pro or Ultra can download Reports JSON for the selected period. The file is for your own tools—Liquify does not import it back. Field meanings are in Export — Reports.
In the app
Open the Reports tab (shell navigation or More menu on compact layouts). Use the info control in the Reports app bar for the same overview. Chart titles have their own info controls for each series.
