Bank Sync

Optional bank connections to compare your plan with real balances and charges—coverage, limits, and data protection.

Overview

Bank Sync is optional. It compares your plan with real balances and charges. Connect demo or real banks, then optionally link an account to a box in Edit Expense Box. On shared budgets, each collaborator can link their own banks to different boxes. Plan vs bank reality is a check—not a daily chore.

How it works

  • Balances and transactions show on Accounts; attach banks on Investments to see holdings.
  • Linking a credit card also asks for the payment account that pays it. For Brazilian Open Finance credit cards, Liquify estimates current open-statement debt from recent card charges (not the used-limit balance the bank reports). Early statement payments are not counted until the next cycle.
  • Manual refresh at most every 15 minutes; automatic about every 6 hours. Recent activity updates on that schedule. About weekly, Liquify also rechecks roughly the last 30 days of transactions to update cancelled or delayed transactions.
  • Prefer linking active fixed-amount boxes that change often; leave goals and low-maintenance expense-driven boxes unlinked when bank accounts are scarce.

Providers and supported regions

Liquify does not maintain a separate bank allowlist. Coverage follows what each partner supports.

Pluggy (Brazil): connect banks at Meu Pluggy with your own Pluggy Developer keys, create a Pluggy Developer app, and paste Client ID, Client Secret, and Item ID into Liquify—see the Meu Pluggy guide.

Lunch Flow (Ultra): search your bank and choose the correct country flag—see the Lunch Flow guide.

Connection limits

On a shared budget, collaborators each use their own slots, so a household can pool more accounts than one person’s limit.

Open Finance refresh limits (Brazil)

In Brazil, Open Finance limits how often each product (accounts, cards, investments, and so on) can be refreshed each month for a given person and bank. Those limits are shared across every app that connects the same bank—not only Liquify. Linking the same bank in many apps, or leaving unused connections active elsewhere, can use up the quota sooner, so some balances or investments may look stale until the next month.

Liquify keeps one connection per bank and deletes it when you disconnect. Prefer disconnecting bank links in apps you no longer use.

Bank data protection

Liquify never sees your bank login.

  • Pluggy (Brazil): you supply your own Pluggy API keys (encrypted on our servers) and an Item ID from Meu Pluggy—Liquify only reads balances and transactions.
  • Lunch Flow: you authorize in their portal.

Partners get your signed-in email to identify the connection (and for Lunch Flow, your account id); they don’t get your budget. Liquify receives account names, types, balances, transactions, and refresh tokens, stored under your account.

While connected, balances refresh about every 6 hours and roughly 90 days of transactions are kept on first connect. Banks often require re-auth every few months.

If Ultra lapses, Lunch Flow sync pauses—box links and last-known balances stay, but Lunch Flow syncing stops. Pluggy (Brazil) keeps syncing. After about 30 days without Ultra, paused Lunch Flow banks are unlinked and synced data is removed. Disconnecting a bank stops sync immediately. Resubscribing to Ultra can resume a still-valid paused Lunch Flow connection without re-linking boxes.

Bank sync data isn’t sold or used for ads—see the Privacy Policy. When you run Plan or Transactions Analysis with bank data, recent transaction descriptions from linked boxes may be included—see AI is optional.

In the app

Open Connect bank from Accounts / Home bank entry points. Demo bank works without Ultra. Pluggy (Brazil) works when signed in on Free/Pro; Lunch Flow requires Ultra (including the free Ultra trial when available).
