Transactions Analysis

Finds plan drift on expense-driven linked boxes by comparing planned expenses with recent charges.

Overview

Transactions Analysis looks at linked boxes that have planned expenses—typically expense-driven boxes—and compares those expenses with recent account charges from about the last 30 days. It can flag amount differences, wrong dates, missing charges, and possible forgotten recurring bills.

That is the main reason Liquify keeps transactions at all: optional evidence to spot drift, not daily categorization homework.

Results are informational only—not professional advice. Optional AI review is separate—see AI is optional.

Matching tips

  • Put merchant or alias text in an expense’s name and/or description (max 100 characters).
  • Related expenses in a box can share a group name when the bank may bill them together.
  • From each insight you can edit or add an expense, or ignore the row (restore later under Ignored insights).
  • Bank descriptions usually match best. Crypto activity is often noisy or generic—see Transactions.

Foreign currency

When the bank provides the original foreign-currency amount, Liquify compares that to your plan. Otherwise it converts your planned amount with mid-market exchange rates and allows for typical card FX fees so small settlement differences are not treated as problems.

Bank data

With Bank Sync enabled and boxes linked, recent transaction descriptions can be included for plan comparison. See Bank Sync.
